适应症
本品常用于治疗汞中毒、砷中毒，为首选解毒药物。对有机汞有一定疗效。对铬、铋、铅、铜及锑化合物（包括酒石酸锑钾）均有疗效。实验治疗观察对锌、镉、钴、镍、钋等中毒，也有解毒作用。
用法用量
用于急性金属中毒时可静脉注射，每次5mg/kg，每4～5小时1次，第二日，2～3次/日，以后1～2次/日，7日为1疗程。用于慢性中毒：每次2.5～5mg/kg，1次/日，用药3日停4日为1疗程，一般用3～4疗程。对毒鼠强中毒：首剂0.125～0.25g肌内注射，必要时0.5～1小时后，再追加每次0.125～0.5g，至基本控制抽搐。
不良反应
本品比二巯丙醇毒性低。但静注速度过快时有恶心、心动过速、头晕及口唇发麻等，一般10～15分钟即可消失。偶有过敏反应，如皮疹、寒战、发热、甚至过敏性休克，剥脱性皮炎等。一旦发生应立即停药，并对症治疗。轻症者可用抗组胺药，反应严重者应用肾上腺素或肾上腺皮质激素。
禁忌
未进行该项实验且无可靠参考文献，故尚不明确。
注意事项
高敏体质者或对巯基化合物有过敏史的患者，应慎用或禁用，必要时脱敏治疗后密切观察下小剂量使用。

遮光，密闭保存。
