适应症
1．主要用于焦虑，镇静催眠，还可用于抗癫痫和抗惊厥。2．缓解炎症引起的反射性肌肉痉挛等。3．用于治疗惊恐症。4．肌紧张性头痛。5．可治疗家族性，老年性和特发性震颤。6．可用于麻醉前给药。
用法用量
口服给药: 1.成人常用量: (1)抗焦虑:一次2.5～10mg，一日2～4次。 (2)镇静:一次2.5～5mg，一日3次。 (3)催眠:5～10mg睡前服。 (4)急性酒精戒断:第一日一次10mg，一日3～4次，以后按需要减少到一次5mg，每日3～4次。 2.小儿常用量:6个月以下不用，6个月以上，一次1～2.5mg或按体重40～200μg/kg或按体表面积1.17～6mg/m2，每日3～4次，用量根据情况酌量增减。最大剂量不超过10mg。
不良反应
1．常见的不良反应，嗜睡，头昏、乏力等，大剂量可有共济失调、震颤。2．罕见的有皮疹，白细胞减少。3．个别病人发生兴奋，多语，睡眠障碍，甚至幻觉。停药后，上述症状很快消失。4．长期连续用药可产生依赖性和成瘾性，停药可能发生撤药症状，表现为激动或忧郁。
禁忌
孕妇、妊娠期妇女、新生儿禁用。
注意事项
1．对苯二氮、类药物过敏者，可能对本药过敏。2．肝肾功能损害者能延长本药清除半衰期。3．癫、患者突然停药可引起癫、持续状态。4．严重的精神抑郁可使病情加重，甚至产生自杀倾向，应采取预防措施。5．避免长期大量使用而成瘾，如长期使用应逐渐减量，不宜骤停。6．对本类药耐受量小的患者初用量宜小。以下情况慎用：1．严重的急性乙醇中毒，可加重中枢神经系统抑制作用。2．重度重症肌无力，病情可能被加重。3．急性或隐性发生闭角型青光眼可因本品的抗胆碱能效应而使病情加重。4．低蛋白血症时，可导致易嗜睡、难醒。5．多动症者可有反常反应。6．严重慢性阻塞性肺部病变，可加重呼吸衰竭。7．外科或长期卧床病人，咳嗽反射可受到抑制。8．有药物滥用和成瘾史者。
